User Roles and Rights

List of roles and their associated rights

Roles within Lakeside Scout define what functions, (i.e., rights) users can perform. Roles escalate from the least amount of rights to the highest amount of rights. Once applied, a role is global, (i.e., it is applied to all titles within the account).

Each account should designate a few individuals with the AccountAdmin role in order to manage users.

 

NoRoleAssigned - default role if a user has no role assigned

  • sign in only

 

ViewOnly - includes the right of the NoRoleAssigned role plus

  • add/remove titles using 'My Titles' filter

  • download original files

  • view assigned stakeholders

  • view pages

  • view titles

  • view title history

  • view title record

 

Uploader - includes the rights of the ViewOnly role plus

  • assign/modify stakeholders

  • check title or component out to make corrections

  • copy existing title

  • create new title

  • delete/reorder pages

  • download low resolution proofs

  • edit title record

  • scale/crop pages

  • upload files

 

ContentApprover - includes the rights of the Uploader role plus

  • change page approval status to approved, rejected or pending

  • resolve preflight issues, (i.e. sign off or fix reported warnings)

 

Final Approver - includes the rights of the ContentApprover role plus

  • download high resolution files

  • give final approval

 

AccountAdmin - includes the rights of the Final Approver role plus

  • manage users (i.e., create, modify* and delete) within your account

* if an email address change is required, reach out to our support staff via the help widget
